Skip the Red and Green
If traditional Christmas colors just aren't for you, try decorating your home in a winter wonderland theme.
Start Early!
If you get your tree on Black Friday morning, then you have the long weekend to get it up and decorated.
But even if it's already December, the earlier you start, the easier the task and the less rushed you will be!
Deck the Halls
Order garland by the foot for use on balconies, railings, doorframes and more. One local source is Kringle's Korner, next to the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.
Make Some Memories
Instead of buying special ornaments each year, make them! Decorating the tree will become a trip down a vivid memory lane.
Lights On?
Plug in the lights before you hang them 30 feet in the air.

Bonus tip: Try to keep both feet on the rungs of your extension ladder as you reach out to put the final touch on the lights that are hanging three stories up.
(Hey Kevin, you ok?)
