ASMG is seeking a highly skilled Chief Broadcast Engineer to lead and oversee all technical aspects of our broadcast operations. This senior leadership role requires a strong technical background and the ability to ensure smooth and reliable operation of our radio stations, broadcast facilities, and transmission systems. General Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all technical aspects of broadcast operations, including transmitters, antennas, automation systems, and studio equipment.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of broadcast systems, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Supervise and mentor the engineering team, providing leadership, training, and support to maintain high standards of technical excellence.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans, system upgrades, and innovations to ensure the longevity and performance of broadcast equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring prompt recovery of systems and broadcasts.
  • Ensure compliance with all FCC regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.
  • Create and manage the broadcast engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and staying within financial constraints.
  • Coordinate with IT, production, and operations teams to provide technical support and implement solutions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors for equipment procurement, maintenance, and service contracts.
  • Provide technical support for live broadcasts, remote events, and special programming.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 7 years of experience in broadcast engineering, including RF experience and AM/FM broadcast experience.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting broadcast systems, including transmitters, satellite systems, audio equipment, and automation software.
  • Strong understanding of FCC regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing and leading a technical team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and work with external vendors effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote sites and transmitters as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $90,000 – $130,000
  • Benefits: Medical/Dental, Vacation, 401k
